Written honestly, in plain language, to match what this service actually does — not a generic template. This is a genuinely useful starting point, but not a substitute for proper legal review before this service is promoted beyond a small beta.
What this is
Turf Alert emails you when publicly available UK weather data suggests it's a good time to mow, feed, or water your lawn, based on a growth-potential and soil-water-balance model tuned to your approximate location. It is a best-effort automated tool, not professional horticultural advice, and not a substitute for your own judgement about your own lawn.
Photo diagnosis
Uploading a photo for an AI-generated lawn diagnosis is optional, and entirely separate from the free email alerts — you're only charged if you choose to use it. Each diagnosis is a one-off payment (currently £1.99 in the UK, $1.99 in the US), taken via Stripe before your photo is analysed. The diagnosis itself is generated automatically by an AI model reading a single photo — a best-effort read, not professional horticultural advice, and not always right, the same as the rest of this service. Because payment happens before analysis, we don't currently offer refunds for a completed diagnosis, including one you're not happy with. If a payment succeeds but something goes wrong before you get a result, we don't yet have a formal process to put that right beyond what your own card issuer's protections cover — a real limitation of this being a new feature, not something we're glossing over.
No guarantees
We don't guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of any alert, or that alerts will arrive at all — email delivery, weather data providers, and the underlying models can all fail or be wrong. Use your own judgement, and don't rely on this service for anything where a missed or wrong alert would cause real harm.
Your responsibilities
Sign up with an email address and UK postcode you actually control. Don't use this service to sign up anyone else without their knowledge, or attempt to abuse, overload, or interfere with it.
Cost
Email alerts are free of charge, and that won't change without clear, separate notice first. The photo-diagnosis feature described above is a separate, already-live paid add-on — see that section for how it's charged.
Ending your use of the service
You can pause or permanently delete your account at any time via the manage link included in every email we send — see the privacy policy for details. We also reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts we reasonably believe are abusive, fraudulent, or not genuinely controlled by the person who signed up.
Liability
This service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of it — including, but not limited to, the condition of your lawn.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
